Chicken Marsala
I remember being a broody teenage who wanted nothing more than to take dinner to my room and forget that I was expected to interact with my family at dinnertime. All of that went out the window when I smelled chicken marsala cooking in the kitchen.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Sweet Marsala Wine
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Flour
- 8 thin-cut Chicken Breast cutlets
- ¼ cup Butter
- 3-4 cloves fresh Garlic sliced
- 1 bouillon cube
- Salt & Pepper to taste to taste
- Garlic Powder to taste
- Oregano to taste
Instructions
- Mix flour, garlic powder, oregano, salt & pepper.
- Dip chicken in four mix.
- In a large sauté pan, fry the chicken in butter.
- Remove the chicken to a plate and set aside.
- Sauté garlic in remaining butter until light brown.
- Add bouillon cube to water and add to pan.
- Add marsala wine.
- Return chicken to pan and simmer, covered, for 30-40 minutes.
Notes
Most chicken marsala recipes call for mushrooms, but this one omits them simply because I did not like them as a kid. If you want to add them, use freshly-sliced 'shrooms and sauté them with the garlic in step 5.
